About Axis
Axis Soccer Training was founded by Coach Argyris Eleftheriou, a current high school soccer coach and certified school counselor with a background in child psychology. Argyris created Axis to give players something that club and academy systems often can’t: individualized, targeted development. Having seen talented players get overlooked or plateau in large training environments, he wanted to build a program that focuses on consistent, personal growth.
With years of experience working with student-athletes, Argyris understands how confidence, mindset, and communication play just as important a role as footwork and ball control. His approach blends the structure of professional training with the empathy and insight of a counselor, creating a learning environment where players feel supported, motivated, and understood.
Whether you’re looking for ongoing coaching to reach the next level or focused preparation for an upcoming tryout, Axis offers the structure, expertise, and attention needed to make real progress. Every session is designed to meet the player where they are and move them forward with clear, measurable improvement.

Mission
Axis was created to bridge the gap between club or academy training and personal player development. While team environments focus on group success, Axis focuses on the individual. Our goal is to develop players who understand the game, take ownership of their growth, and perform with skill and composure when it matters most.
Training Model
Axis Soccer Training follows a European-style development model centered on maximizing touches, technical precision, and repetition. The goal is to create confident players who are comfortable on the ball in any situation.
Unlike large academy or club sessions where players spend time waiting in lines or rotating through drills, every Axis session is active from start to finish.
Through the 1-to-1 training model, players receive constant feedback, correction, and encouragement.
A typical session includes more than 2,000 touches on the ball, helping athletes refine their first touch, improve passing and dribbling control, and develop sharper game instincts. This high-contact, focused approach accelerates growth and builds lasting technical consistency that translates directly to competitive play.

My Story
Coach Argyris Eleftheriou grew up with soccer as a constant in his life. His father, an ex-professional, introduced the game to him early, whether they were playing in the backyard or watching classic matches together, soccer was always there. Without the financial means or connections to access academy programs, Argyris found the sport wherever it was available. He learned through parks, pickup games, his school, and community fields, and his passion for soccer became stronger than any obstacle in his way.

That passion followed him to Temple University, where he studied psychology and played at the competitive club level, in men’s leagues, and in the pick-up environments that shaped his creativity and love for the game. After college, he earned a master’s degree in School Counseling from Kean University and began coaching while building his counseling career. He coached at Bergenfield High School, then at Franklin High School, where he later became the head coach of the middle school program. Today, Argyris serves as both a school counselor and freshman soccer coach at Randolph High School.
Argyris created Axis Soccer Training with a simple belief that the beautiful game should be accessible to anyone who wants to play. His coaching blends psychology, education, and on-field experience to help players build confidence, develop technically, and feel supported throughout their journey. Whether in a backyard or on a local field, his goal is to make real development possible anywhere.
